if you have never been to this enchanted land, you would not be able to visualise the grace of hands brought together, to signify respect and welcome. the flick of fingers in rhythmic response to the gamelan brass orchestra - anger. love. goodbye. in a drama that unfolds through dance. and dance alone.

hands, beckon
anger. love. goodbye
the music begins

if you have never been to this legacy of romance, you would not be able to listen to the million fables brought together, to represent centuries of storytelling. or the flick of fingers in rhythmic response to the voice of the penglipurlara - makyung. wayang. mulung. in a drama that unfolds on  stage. alone.

stories, beckon
makyung. wayang. mulung.
the show begins

if you have never been to this world of grace, you would not be able to smell the million scents brought together, to represent centuries of tradition. or the flick of fingers in rhythmic response to the brass pots and wooden stove - cloves. curry. cinnamon. in a drama that unfolds above the fire. and fire alone.

spices, beckon
cloves. curry. cinnamon
the feast begins

Inspired by Tony Maude at dVersepoets

Earth - couplets, haiku and a pleiade

I wonder why the clouds are grey
With not a sight of raindrop all day

Rivers no longer rush with thrill to sea
Amidst sluggish crawl to break free

From all the hazards from the towns
From way up high, down to the ground

Is it time for mother earth to retreat
Abandon all of us to our own beat

Shall we be like moths to the flame
When no one is left to take the blame

As she rises in all her fury and might
And we will be defeated in this fight.

mother earth sighs with apprehension as she tries to break free,
no more

Earth - beauty, unrivaled
Ever faithful sunrise
Each moment, like crystal
Evermore as we part
Evening, a hallowed treat
Expansive starry night
Earth - beauty, unrivaled
